I have made a little progress.  I can ping from the ip masq cpu to any
computer on the internet via eth0 and to any computer on the LAN through
eth1.  Computers on the LAN can ping to each other and both eth0 and eth1
of the ip masq cpu, but NOT other computers on the internet.
The echo / ech0 was a typo and the file reads 1 not 0.
I changed the ip addresses to 192.168.1.X but that didn't  change
anything.
I am currently reviewing the ipchaining rules and reading the howto's.
