MySQL daemon user

[Slowping]

Anyone know if it's okay to run the mySQL daemon as root?
I know that for PostgreSQL, it's a bad thing to run as root.  However, I
can't find any documentation anywhere on what the recommendation is for
mySQL.

Any input appreciated.
