C&T 65555 HiQV chipset

Sorry, I'm not.  However, after grepping the internet for a few minutes, I
came up with the following bug fix report for XFree86 3.3.6a (released
March 2001):

1252. Fix the pattern source address mask for the C&T HiQV chips, which
      was causing 8x8 pattern problems when using more than 2MB of video
      memory (#2281, Peter Wainwright).

This looks to be the problem.  I suggest you upgrade X.
