I need some help with the sawfish (a.k.a. sawmill) window manager and GNOME

I have found three different ways to active the GNOME Control Center. I
want to change the focus behavior of the sawfish window manager. I have
tried this on both RH 6.1 and RH 7.1 machines, and in all cases,
although ps -ax says that sawfish is running, and although the control
panel setting for current window manager is sawmill, when I attempt to
change the configuration I get an error message that [Sawmill isn't
running].

Does anybody have any advice/comments/guidance?

Many thanks,

Jeff
