Hi all,

I wanted to post a job description for a linux sysadmin job starting 
this summer.  This is from a person I worked with who has moved to a new 
research position.  I think this is a great summer job for anyone 
looking to gain experience with linux while continuing to take summer 
classes...

Position: Part-time System Administrator

Salary: $10/hr and up commensurate with experience

Description:  A new research partnership has been established with the
University of Washington (http://scmgc.cmo.washington.edu).  Our team
is looking for a reliable, dedicated, and hard working system
administrator to manage three to four servers running Redhat Linux.

Qualified applicants must possess or be familiar with the following
skills:

Pro-actively manage and maintain system security
Apache web server administration and troubleshooting
Coldfusion server maintenance
User and group account management
Software installation via compiled source, RPM, or other formats
Manage system backups via tape drive
Communicate with campus CAC as needed to resolve network issues
Communicate with researchers to establish solutions for given problems
Purchase and install new equipment as needed
