Gripe against OSX [ was Re: osx talk meeting notes ]

If people are annoyed, they should speak up. I, for one, am finding it 
quite interesting. And given that OS X could steal away possible 
Linux/BSD users, maybe others will find it interesting, too.

One question I didn't get to ask at the presentation is, Is OS X 
benefitting the Open Source community, or is Apple making a profit from 
Open Source while stealing its business?

As I see it, there are two ways for the corporate world to kill Open 
Source. One is the route M$ has taken (courts, pressure, proprietary 
software, etc.). The other is to embrace it and suck all the life out of it.

What do others think? Is OS X good for Open Source?
