Zope, Python, and UA systems

Good day,

I'd like to install Zope on a UA system for my department. We do not have
the resources to maintain our own server, so it'll have to be UA systems for
us. I wonder if anyone has experience doing this? Here are some of the
problems I've run into:

- mead/homer did not have gnu tar; I had to un-tar the tarball offsite and
upload with scp -r to avoid @LongLink problems.
- Python is version 2.0 and 2.2; Zope wants 2.1. I assume that won't be a
  problem for too long.

I (apparently) will have to use the cgi instead of a live server, since I
can only start processes on homer01, ovid01, etc, and because a stand-alone
server would have to operate on a different port. Is this true? Is there a
way to get around it?

Thanks in advance,

Peter
