Hi guys,
After a long break from using Linux I decided to pop Redhat 9
onto my primary machine as a dual boot. I've gotten to the point where
you partition the hard drives (using either FDisk or Disk Druid). I get
an error message saying that my hard drive appears to be corrupt. There
is an existing Windows 2000 partition on it.
I get the same error with Mandrake Linux 9.1.
I am currently using an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card, the only drive
on the chain is set to SCSI ID0; a 10k rpm Fujitsu 18Gb drive. The
drive was previously partitioned under I believe Redhat 6 (?) with an
Adaptec 2940 card, which had passed away.
Any suggestions? I am guessing that it's my Adaptec card not
being recognized properly; I know that Win2k install requires a special
driver disc too with this card.
