Tim,
That sounds sort of odd to me. Most form mail programs
only require that you supply the path to sendmail or other
mail transfer program. email.conf rings absolutely no bells
to me.
If you are just looking for a simple form handler script,
one that takes the contents of a form and emails them to
you, there are other non C based programs that would be
easier for sure.
I would suggest going with a simpler perl or PHP based
formmail program.
