[linux] The great OS debate

 I was going to stay out of this from now on (learning a lot
 by the way) but Redhat just demonstrated a level of
 service I haven't seen in years. A simple thing, a
 cheap thing, but very thoughtful.

 It's not exactly part of the distro but the support
 behind the distro.

 Our A/C blew out a couple days ago and we shut down all
 nonessential machines in the machine room. One was a Redhat
 system.

 Today I got an email from Redhat saying that the machine
 hadn't contacted them for awhile and thus isn't getting
 updates. With an option to stop getting these notices.

 Wow!
