[linux] Fun with Ubuntu

Perpetual-motion drinking birds (a la Homer) are how I get through my
job each day...
Ubuntu doesn't have quite the package selection of Debian, but I think
what attracts me to it is that it is trimmed-down and "to the point" if
that makes any sense. I know they've spent alot of time getting Gnome
to work just so on there, I am impressed with the results, even if I was
initially bummed about there being no KDE (my wife loves KMahjongg).
Still, I am glad to see other people are having good results with it. I
think it's fair to say that Ubuntu isn't going to be a fly-by-night
distro and will stay around for a while. The new one, Hoary Hedgehog,
is supposed to have some big improvements, though someone else maybe
able to elaborate on that better.
