There are a few spaces still available in the winter 2005 Cape Town
program, sponsored by the Comparative History of Ideas program. This
program is open to students from all areas of study, earns full-time UW
credit, and qualifies for Federal Financial Aid.
This program mixes an academic study of the history and culture of South
Africa - particularly the theories of reconciliation and community that
guided the countries transition to democracy - with an Engaged Community
Learning component that places each of our students in volunteer positions
with local schools and community groups.
We have received several applications for this program, but there is still
some space left, so you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
