Thanks to all for the continued enthusiastic responses and support for
the UW math club. It will make a really wonderful comeback story!
Hmm.., think George Lucas is looking for a storyline for his next film?
Judging by the responses, this Thursday at 4 pm looks to be the most
preferred day and time for a first meeting (in the Math lounge).
Some possible items for the meeting:
1. Choose a person or a group of persons (according to individual
interests) to coordinate the activities of the club (at least, on
an interim basis until item 2 below is settled). Choose
a webmaster (or two).
2. Decide (or, at least, discuss) what system to use for choosing the
people of item 1 in the future.
(Democracy, say, majority vote, is preferred over anarchy or autocracy
or random selection.)
Many of you have experiences with club organization, so you likely
have good ideas on this. Suggestions are most welcome. :)
Some people have indicated that they cannot make it to the first meeting,
so a summary of the meeting will be posted (by me or someone).
And let me know if you would like to be added to the list of
people interested, at
http://www.math.washington.edu/~tseng/mathclub.html
That's all for now. Hope to see you on Thursday!
Paul
