Title: Bose-Einstein Condensates: An Example of Nonlinearity
Abstract:
A popular and interesting subject in physics is Bose-Einstein Condensation. In
particular, this is of interest due to the advances in both the experimental
realization of condensates and the analytical description of the physical
system. In this talk, I will discuss what a Bose Condensate is, how
experimentalists achieve it, and how the nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger
equation is used to describe the dynamics.
