Race, Culture and Cultures in Contact

Spring Quarter in Buena Vista, Mexico

Info Sessions:

Tuesday Nov. 7, 2:00 - 3:00 in Guthrie 211

Thursday Nov. 9, 12:30-1:30 in Guthrie 57

During Spring quarter of 2007, Professor Kimberly Barrett Ed.D. (U.W. Psychology) will lead a group of 16 UW students in Baja California, Mexico, a lovely region that has been transformed by tourism. Working closely with members of the local community, this Comparative History of Ideas program will employ Psychology as the core of a multi-disciplinary examination of race and culture in this context.

This program is open to students of sophomore standing or higher, from all areas of study. It is highly recommended that applicants have completed SPANISH 102, or have comparable speaking competency. Participants will remain enrolled at the UW during spring quarter, and may apply their Federal Financial Aid (if eligible) to program costs.

For more information, please attend an info session, or see the webpage, http://depts.washington.edu/chid/showprogram.php?id=46.
