*******************************************************************************
Girls in Engineering Math and Science (GEMS), a program from the Association
for Women in Science (AWIS) is looking for a few new mentors to join us as
examples of real women in (or learning) the fields of engineering, math, or
science.

Our organization recruits young women from the local middle schools and gathers
them once a month to work together on activities developed by we the mentors.
The goals of each activity are basic:
  1) teach them a little about engineering, math or science
  2) give them a chance to interact with girls from other schools
  3) provide a comfortable and fun learning environment
  4) allow them to interact at a more personal level with real women learning
or applying math, engineering or science at a more advanced level.

This year we meet from 6:30-8:30 pm the first Tuesday of each month at
the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center South Lake Union Campus.
Our current mentors are all in the biological sciences, so although we
would love more of our own, we would be especially excited to have
women from engineering, chemistry, physics, math, etc.
