Students,

Do you want to win $1000 in prize money? Are you doing research at UW that
has commercial potential? If so, you will want to sign up to demonstrate
your technology at the 3rd Annual Science and Technology Showcase hosted by
SEBA. The details:

What: Science & Technology Showcase (STS)
When: 5-7PM, Tuesday November 13th, 2007
Where: Commons in Balmer Hall
What: Competition to see who has the technology with the most commercial
potential
Why: $1000 Grand prize sponsored by OVP, $500 second prize sponsored by
ARCH, $300 third prize sponsored by WRF, and three $100 prizes sponsored by
SEBA - in addition to an iPod raffle, you can win an iPod just by showing
up!

This event will be a competition to see which UW students are doing the
research with the most commercial potential. Venture Capital firms have
ponied up big money for cash prizes, and will be on hand to judge the
winning teams. In addition, MBA students will be attending the event to
hear about your research and network with you to form teams for the Business
Plan Competition. If you have an idea for the BPC, you should definitely
take this opportunity to show off your technology to interested MBA students
to convince them to get on your team - oh, and the possibility of winning
$1000 doesn't hurt either!

Please see the attached flyer or go to www.uwseba.org for more details.
This is an amazing opportunity, so be sure to tell all of your friends who
are doing research here!

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TECH SHOWCASE: send an email to Rob Burke at
robburke at u.washington.edu with a statement of your intent to participate and
a brief (1-2 sentence) description of your technology. You will need to put
together a poster - but DO NOT WORRY, THE COST OF THE POSTER WILL BE COVERED
BY SEBA. Other details will follow.

I hope to see all of you at the event, whether you are presenting a poster
or not!

Best regards,

Rob
SEBA President
