Hello,

 

My name is Leigh Delafield and I'm contacting you to see if you may have any
students interested in volunteering with our organization.

 

We are a non-profit community based organization working in Columbia City to
provide support services to East African Immigrants and refugees. We provide
a wide range of social services for individuals and families from all East
African countries, including, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea and
Sudan. 

 

The services we offer are free of charge and we strive to help our low
income clients achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency. 

 

We are looking for volunteers that have an understanding of some of the
issues and barriers that our clients face and have faced in their journey. 

 

We have a great need for tutors in our After School Program and are looking
to achieve a 1:1 tutor to student ratio. The kids are going through a lot of
changes with the current restructuring of the  Bi-lingual Program.

 

Most of the kids are struggling immensely in Math and Literacy and
absolutely need extra help to achieve any level of success.

The programs run Tuesday's & Thursday's from 5pm-7pm and Monday &
Wednesday's from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
