It is with pleasure that I open this year's nominations for the 2012
Distinguished Staff Awards.

UW staff support the mission and vision of the University in so many ways. I
hope that you will help shine a spotlight on your colleagues whose work
exceeds expectations with superior sustained service or through completion
of a significant achievement.

You can learn more about the Distinguished Staff Awards program, including
how to nominate an individual or a small team, at the new

Staff Awards website. Up to five of this year's nominees will be presented
with the award at the annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony, which also
includes presentations of the Distinguished Teaching, Outstanding Public
Service, and other University awards.

Questions about the DSA program or process may be directed to

All nominations must be submitted by Friday, December 16, 2011.
