Subject: ON THE ICE
Dear Seattle Friends - I am writing to ask for your help as Andrew Okpeaha MacLean plans a self-distribution campaign for his film ON THE ICE. For
those of you who haven’t been following the trail of ON THE ICE, the film premiered in competition at Sundance Film Festival this year and went on to
win two top prizes at the Berlin Film Festival – the Best First Feature Prize and the Crystal Bear. Despite this momentum most major distributors
have passed over the film and instead Andrew and his team are planning a self-distribution release this autumn. This self-distribution plan requires
a lot of support and word of mouth from those of us who can rally our networks to support such a talented and wonderful filmmaker. Here is a clip to
Andrew’s shortfilm SIKUMI which won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize back in 2008, and served as the basis for his feature film:

As a part of this self-distribution plan Andrew has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary $80k to support their theatrical release.
This is the part where I am calling on you for help. Andrew has 50 hours left in his Kickstarter campaign to reach his goal and he’s about $15k
away. If you could circulate this link to your friends and networks, I’m sure we can help rally him through to the finish line. If Andrew does not
reach $80k, he will forfeit all the pledges he’s made to get to this point on Kickstarter. Here is the link:

Click on the link to see the ON THE ICE page. You can pledge as little at $1 or up to $5,500 and receive really cool rewards for making a pledge. If
you have any questions, please feel free to call me or I can put you in touch with Cara Marcous, the producer of the film. I would be ever grateful
to you for any support you can lend at this very critical stage.
Sending you my very best wishes!
Thank you,
Bird
