First Nations at UW Spring Powwow
April 20th - 22nd

Like inspiring children to learn, pursue their goals and reach higher
education? This Earth Day weekend, First Nations at UW's spring powwow will
host a 'Kids Room' for children's activities throughout the weekend. We are
currently looking for either individuals or organizations willing to host
an educational activity for the children either Saturday or Sunday (See
attached schedule for times). We have some funding set aside for materials.
See below for more information.

Please forward to anybody you think might be interested! THANK YOU! :)

Hi Helen,
Can you forward this email to anyone you think will be interested?

Kassie

Hi all,

My name is Kassie Polovick and I'm apart of the Kids Room Committee, which
is in charge of planning actives for the kids to do in the kids room at the
2012 First Nation's Spring Powwow (April 20-22). We are looking for anyone
who is interested in conducting an educational, yet stimulating activity
with the kids that allows them to begin thinking about their future careers
and education after high school (crafts, storytelling, cultural activities,
etc.). If you are interested in spending 1-2 hours with some of the kids in
the kids room, we want to provide you with a table and assist you in
acquiring your materials (if any) for your selected activity.
Please note that there will be several other activities occurring in the
kids room at the same time, so you will only be working with a select
amount of kids at a time. The other activities we have planned so far
include: a coloring contest (pictures of plants to encourage
sustainability, etc.), sports games, a seed planting/ gardening station,
and campus tours will be scheduled for two times on both Saturday and
Sunday (2pm & 3pm). This is just to give you a better idea of what we are
going to be advising in the kids room this year.

If you are interested, please contact me at kpolovic at uw.edu, or Bailey
Warrior at bayah8 at comcast.net and we can provide further arrangements.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration,
Kassie Polovick
