UC PRESS SCIENCE HISTORY JOURNAL CHANGES TITLE AND MOVES FROM
BIANNUAL TO QUARTERLY PUBLICATION SCHEDULE IN 2008

Berkeley, California - August 2, 2007, University of California Press
Journals + Digital Publishing is pleased to announce that one of its most
eminent journals, Historical Studies in the Physical and Biological
Sciences (HSPS), is undergoing a title change to better reflect the broad
scope of scholarship contained within its pages.  The first issue with the
new title, Historical Studies in the Natural Sciences, will be Volume 38
No. 1, scheduled to be released in February 2008. The journal will
continue its legacy as the premier journal in the historiography of
science with extensive coverage of all aspects of natural science history.
HSNS will continue to be published by UC Press for the Office for History
of Science and Technology,University of California, Berkeley. Further
demonstrating its commitment to serve the history of science community,
the journal will also be moving to a quarterly publication schedule with
volume 38. The new publication months for the journal will be February,
May, August, and November.

UC Press will be formally launching HSNS at the History of Science Society
Annual Meeting, in Arlington VA. The Press will host a reception on Friday
November 2, 7-8:30 (room location TBD) at the Marriott Crystal Gateway.
The reception will also introduce the new editors of HSNS, chaired by
Cathryn Carson. All attendees of the HSS annual meeting are invited to
attend.

Subscribers to Volume 37 of HSNS will be receiving a special supplemental
issue of the journal in September 2007. This issue will be printed and
shipped to all subscribers at no cost to them. The issue will be made
available free of charge on UC Press' online hosting platform Caliber.
