2004 SUMMER FACULTY DEVELOPMENT IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FUNDING AVAILABLE

The Global Business Center (home of UW CIBER), at the University of
Washington, is pleased to announce the availability of funding of up to
$1500 to apply towards expenses related to attending a Faculty Development
in International Business Workshop or Seminar between June - September 20th
++The funding must be dispersed and spent no later than September 1, 2004
++Participation in the FDIB workshop/ seminar must be before September 20,
Eligibility: Funding is available to international business educators and
program administrators at colleges and universities in the Northwestern
United States (due to US government guidelines, only faculty at U.S.
colleges and universities may apply). University of Washington faculty and
staff from the main campus are not eligible to apply. UW branch campus
faculty may apply (subject to certain payroll restrictions). Only one
proposal will be accepted per individual, but more than one proposal can be
made from the same school.
Size of Awards: Funding of up to $1500 will be awarded. Funding awarded may
cover registration fees, hotel expenses, and travel within the U.S. (foreign
travel cannot be supported).
Type of proposals considered: Faculty participation in a faculty development
in international business workshop or seminar, such as those sponsored by
CIBER universities. We will also consider FDIB workshops sponsored by non
CIBER U.S. business school universities/colleges. Note: Faculty research
cannot be funded under this grant program.

. Only electronic submission of proposal via email will be accepted.
. Maximum of 2 page proposal plus resume:
. 2 Page Proposals should include 1) Your name and full contact
information including email address 2) A description of the FDIB
seminar/workshop plus a link to the sponsoring university's webpage about
the seminar/workshop and/or sponsoring university's contact information, 3)
Justification for participating in the FDIB workshop/seminar and how you or
your institution will benefit, and 4) a proposed itemized budget and
description of who will cover anticipated expenses.
. Submit the 2 page proposal and a brief resume via email to Michele
Stark, NIBEN Program Manager, micheles at u.washington.edu.
. Proposals for Summer FDIB workshops/seminars will be will evaluated
on an ongoing basis between June -August 20, 2004 by the UW Global Business
. The funding must be dispersed and spent no later than September 1,
