2007 FACULTY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS 

 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS 

 


The Global Business Center (home of UW CIBER), at the University of
Washington, is pleased to announce the availability of grants to support the
development of faculty expertise and teaching materials related to
international business.  

 

The due date has been changed from the Fall of 2006 to Winter 2007 

 

Proposal Due Date: January 08, 2007

Eligibility:  Grants are available to international business educators and
program administrators at colleges and universities in the Northwestern
United States (due to US government guidelines, only faculty at U.S.
colleges and universities may apply).  University of Washington faculty and
staff from the main campus are not eligible to apply.  UW branch campus
faculty may apply (subject to certain payroll restrictions). Only one
proposal will be accepted per individual, but more than one proposal can be
made from the same school. 

 

Size of Awards: Around $8,000 is available from Global Business Center for
each grant cycle.  Proposals for grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will be
considered.  The typical award is approximately $2000. 

 

Two types of proposals will be considered:

 

1)      Development of international teaching materials, including case
studies, videos, new course development and so forth

 

2)     Faculty participation in Faculty Development in International
Business (FDIB) seminars. Priority will be given to those offered at a CIBER
university in the Unites States.
