Workshop Overview
International business is embedded in a larger context that both
constrains and enables action. Local, regional, and national
government, quasi-governmental entities, legal institutions, accounting
institutions, global trade institutions and businesses all work together
to enhance economic development and international trade. This
conference will help participants develop a more nuanced look at how the
roots of international business are embedded in governmental and
institutional action. In particular, the conference will focus on the
nexus of key actors that influence South Puget Sound business as an
example in order to help participants discover and leverage the actors
and activities occurring in their own backyards. Following the
workshop, participants may join a guided tour at the renowned Museum of
Glass <http://museumofglass.org/> featuring glass from Dale Chihuly and
other famous international glass artists. An evening reception will be
hosted at Indochine <http://www.indochinedowntown.com/> Asian Dining
Lounge in Tacoma.
