Jeannette,
Hi. I'm Dolores Shapiro, chair of the Department of Nursing from Northern
Arizona U. Dr. Marge Conger and I just submitted a grant to the Division of
Nursing to develop a master's program which incorporates all the core public
health and public health nursing competencies. I would be more than happy
to share this with you. Just let me know where to send it. Also feel free
to contact me at any time.

Thank you for your reply. Right now I am looking for a specific sample of
what a PHN competency would look like? We do not have any PHN competencies
at the moment and we are in the processing of developing them, starting from
scratch. Are there 'core' competencies for PHNs, if so where would I be
able to get a copy?

At some point, a group needs to cross-walk your PHN competencies to the core
competencies for public health professionals--not that they need to be
identical, but we need to be able to map the consistencies, and the
particularities of various groups practicing within public health.
