Dear Agneta:
In response to your questions, I may respond them according to our
experience in Thailand.
> Does anybody have information or contacts on the following issues:
> 1.Studies of nutrition knowledge, attitudes or perceived nutrition training
> needs of health care workers.
In our country , we have many going -on separate graduate
students' projects and studies for their thesis about nutrition knowledge
, attitude of nurses adn health care officers in the Public Health
Program.
> 2. a) Innovative or exceptional structured programmes of nutrition training
> of health care workers.
The structured programms are usually designed as meetings,
questionaire, training camp in a resort area, group organization,
news bulletin , frequent and more activities on nutrition like picniking,
camping, special classes, diet-therapy clinic for counselling and
religious activities by buddhis monks in temples.
> b) Have these training programmes been evaluated and if so, what
> evaluation measures were used?
They have been to somewhat extent evaluated by other groups by
observation, following their lifestyles, behaviour, action and vision
before and after their nutrition training. Encouragement and
participation are certainly needed.
> 3. Research projects examining effective strategies for nutrition training
> of health care workers.
I have no much idea about this projects but there are some
research projects going on in Thailand. If you have to kwow, someone can
find out from the Thai Universities and the Ministry of Public Health.
