Carolyn,
In response to your request for a nutrition reference that can be used by
other health professionls when working with parents of children with
special health needs...Nutrition and Feeding for Persons with Special
Needs: A Practical Guide and Resource Manual (2nd ed (1992) is the last
one I have) by Cecilia Rokusek, EdD, RD and Eberhard Heinrichs, MD,
FAAP. I recommend this resource most often because it is easy to use
with parents, there is a permission to duplicate in the introductory
pages (always a plus), and contains a great deal of solid information.
Now, I'm hoping it is still available. They listed a toll free number in
the book (1-800-658-3080). Cecilia is no longer at the University of
South Dakota, but you can write to the SDUAP, Interdisciplinary Center
for Disabilities, Vermillion, South Dakota 57069 and ask about the status
of the publication. Someone else out on the list may want to verify
this. Judy
