Apple Juice

Hello,
I am both a consulting nutritionist and a master's student of clinical
dietetics. However, I have yet to find any information (from literature or otherwise)
about possible apple juice sensitivities, but not to apples.

I loved apple juice as a child. A few years ago, however, I began having severe
reactions to the juice (pure, no additives) similar to an asthmatic attack, but I don't
suffer from asthma. It feels as if my trachea and esophogus contracts resulting in
serious chest pain and pain into the shoulders. A similar reaction occurs after
consuming foods containing sulphur dioxide, which I know I'm allergic to. Could I be
allergic to apple juice? I can eat apples just fine. This rxn has occurred only in
pure apple juice with no additives.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you,
Deanna Cornelius
