The University of Washington is accepting applications for the 1997-98
academic year for the MPH program in Nutritional Sciences.
The program offers a flexible structure within a two-year framework. It
is designed to provide public health training for Registered Dietitians.
Program Objectives are to provide:
1. Broad overview of the public health system and the environment in
which public health recommendations are interpreted and implemented.
2. Basic analytical and administrative skills necessary to integrate
nutrition into the public health core functions of assessment, policy
development and assurance.
3. Opportunity for advanced study of a particular topic in public
health nutrition.
Strengths of the program include:
- Epidemiology, program planning and evaluation, health policy,
maternal and child health, social and behavioral sciences
- Field experience under the joint supervision of an experienced
practicing public health nutritionist and a faculty advisor.
