   LOWCARB PRO is a technical discussion list intended for physicians,
   researchers, dieticians, nutritionists, and technically competent laymen
   to discuss low-carbohydrate diets as a treatment for diabetes,
   atherosclerosis, hypertension, hyperlipoproteinism, autism, obesity,
   epilepsy, and other serious medical conditions.  It is not a "support"
   group for beginning or everyday dieters (other lists exist for that
   purpose).

   Our discussions tend to focus on the basic concept of ketosis-inducing
   diets, in addition to the popular diets described by Atkins, Eades, Heller,
   Ezrin, Bernstein, and Sears, with related discussions on the nature of
   ketosis, paleolithic nutrition, and the problems associated with the modern
   diet.

   List discussions are in English.

   (esmay at syndicomm.com) and technical maintenance is handled by
   Jerry Kindall (kindall at manual.com).
