I have conducted supermarket tours for ongoing classes I have taught.
Framework and focus was set before the tour. Fun things to do - for focus
on fruits and vegetables have participants count the number of fruits and
vegetables (70 different kinds at one store!) making it easy to get 5 A
DAY. Use 3x5 cards with assignments ie best nutrition bargain for certain
food items.
I am currently planning a program for WIC client in collaboration with
local supermarket produce departments. Key points selection
sampling, easy preparation to reach 5 A Day!
Have fun with it!
