--new on our home page--
A set of data tables "Pyramid Servings Data: Results from USDA's
1994 Continuing Survey of Food Intakes by Individuals" is now up on
our home page at: www.barc.usda.gov/bhnrc/foodsurvey/home.htm
(click on "New Releases, Announcements"). The tables are in PDF
format and can be downloaded with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Instructions
for obtaining this free software are on the New Releases page. The
tables will be available at NTIS although we don't have an accession
number yet.
A CD-ROM contining the Pyramid servings microdata has gone for
reproduction and should be available in late April or May. The CD
contains two types of files. The Pyramid Intake Data File contains
daily intakes of food servings from the major food groups in USDA's
Food Guide Pyramid and selected subgroups; these data are derived from
the 1994 CSFII. The second file, Servings Data Base, is a reference
data base of food servings per 100 grams for each food code reported
in CSFII 1994. The SETS software will be on the CD to facilitate
the use of the data on a personal computer.
