Mr. Mellett, I'm not familiar with any nutritional treatment
for Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have heard of USANA
supplements but do not know anything about the
company, the quality of their supplements, or the
quality control used in preparation of their supplements.
I believe that they are marketed through distributors. My
caution to you would be that if the distributors are making
claims for their supplements that you consider the source
very carefully. Do they provide you with any published
research results that can help you make a rational decision
about whether or not to use their products? Or do they
give you anecdotal claims that are impossible to verifty.
I'm not saying that individuals do not differ or even that
supplements absolutely will not help your daughter, just
that the source of the information should be considered.
I wish you and your daughter the best. I do believe that
one's attitude can be extremely important in getting through
a serious illness, and recommend that you take advantage
of the written information in this area as well as cassette tapes
available. When I had breast cancer 5 years ago I found
Bernie Siegel's books and tapes helpful, as well as Kushner's
"When Bad Things Happen to Good People;" and Larry LeShan's
"How to Meditate" (I had it on tape).

"Every chance meeting is an appointment."

I am looking for assistance with Ankylosing Spondylitis. My daughter has it quite severely, and the doctors have given up on her. I have recieved advice on giving her "USANA" nutritional supplements.
Does anyone know about this disease, and will nutritional supplements help?
