Dear TrainingFinder.org Submitters:
The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice,
comprised of leaders from national public health practice and academic
orgainizations, has developed a draft list of core competencies for public
health professionals. The current list represents ten years of work
defining skills and competencies, and is based on input from public health
practitioners and academicians. When completed, this effort will help
guide the development and content of public health training programs. The
Council has initiated a review process to refine and validate the list,
and invites you and your colleagues to join over 300 other reviewers in
commenting on the draft competencies at the following web site
(http://www.trainingfinder.org/competencies). This public comment period
closes on November 30th.
The Council on Linkages will also be having a session on this topic during
the national APHA conference (session #3075 on Monday 11/13/00 at 2:30
p.m.) Please direct questions or comments about this list or other
Council activities to Dianna Conrad at the Public Health Foundation, (202)
898-5600 or dconrad at phf.org.
Sincerly,
Nashida Beckett
