PA#245 COMMUNITY NUTRITION EDUCATOR/NUTRITION AND FOOD SAFETY ISSUE LEADER
LOCATION: Broome County, Binghamton, NY
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County seeks an educator to provide
leadership for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP),
the Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP) and general nutrition
and food safety. Supervise and guide the work of the EFNEP/FSNEP nutrition
teaching assistants and nutrition educator. Work with community ENEP
educators in two-to-six county associations to support Southern Tier
regional EFNEP. Provide nutrition inservice for EFNEP/FSNEP and nutrition
and food safety staff. Contribute actively to the Cornell Cooperative
Extension of Broome County organization and programs by joint planning and
support within the association, community, and Cornell University.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in nutritional sciences, community
nutrition, dietetics, foods and nutrition, public health nutrition; or home
economics/human ecology, health or other closely related area with
specialization in nutrition (minimum of 12 semester credit
hours). Desired: Registered Dietitian certification. Course work in
communication, education (including adult learning), evaluation, behavioral
science, management and marketing. Three years as an extension educator or
equivalent professional experience in teaching or education in an academic,
human service or industry setting, with progressively responsible
leadership and program experience. Management and supervisory experience.
Experience with limited-resource audiences.
