FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Osteoporosis may become an even greater concern in the
future due to our increasing life expectancy. Osteoporosis is more common
after people pass 50 and especially for women after menopause. At the turn
of the century, an American female born in 1900 had a life expectancy of
about 50 years; today we think of 50 as PERHAPS being middle-aged!
