PA#275 NUTRITION EDUCATOR
LOCATION: Rensselaer County, Troy, NY
Coordinate Community Nutrition Education Program for targeted audiences
including providing in-depth subject matter content as a basis for program
marketing, delivery, and evaluation. Provide input for budget
development. Supervise staff and/or volunteer involvement in program. In
cooperation with supervisor, develop long range goals and objectives for
quality nutrition education programs which focus on individualized
(one-on-one) education. Plan, develop, conduct, and evaluate nutrition
education programs to meet requirements of assigned contracts and
projects. Current programs include leadership for the
following: Rensselaer County Health Department, Office for Aging,
Nutrition Education Program for Seniors: conduct in-home nutrition
education and presentations at meal sites; participate in and initiate case
conferences; develop handouts and other educational materials;
review/approve menus; monitor kitchen facilities; and utilize other
delivery methods as needed. Rensselaer County Health Department: conduct
in-home nutrition education; participate in and initiate case conferences;
conduct staff training; participate in preventative health interventions;
and coordinate with other public health programs and projects,
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree and two years experience relevant to the
role of the position. BS and/or Masters in the field of
nutrition. Registered Dietitian; experience in clinical dietetics.
