Hello. The CDC handbook, "Seeing the Faces, Hearing the Stories, Learning
from Our Communities: Using Focus Groups to Gain an Understanding of Living
with Diabetes in Various Communities," is now available on the CDC web site
at http://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/pubs/focus/index.htm.
This book was written a few years ago and is no longer available in print.
It describes information learned from 27 focus groups with people
representing populations in the United States that are disproportionately
affected by diabetes, particularly perceptions about living with diabetes
among American Indians, African Americans, Hispanics/ Latinos, and Asian
Americans.
