Thanks to all who replied to my question about interfaces for hooking up
an exercise bike to power a tv. One of the replies referred me to a specific
machine, described below:

It is called "The Pedaler", by D Squared Technologies, Inc. There are 4
different types. The TV Pedaler connects to the tv and you must pedal to
watch tv. The PC Pedaler connects to the computer and you must pedal above
a preset speed in order to view the monitor. The AV Pedaler controls the
audio or video inputs on any TV or sound system. You must pedal to keep it
on. The BX Pedaler is used by itself.
