Kathrynne,

It's not just insulin resistance. I just did a survey at a health fair
sponsored by Radio Unica in which almost half of the women had at least two
symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome...and yet their blood glucoses, being
measured by my colleague, were normal. My hand was sore by the end of the
day because I was writing so many notes to physicians to please check insulin
levels.

It's not just about insulin. It's about a basic hypothalamic disruption that
affects the function of several major hormones. I showed the raw data to
another research colleague whose comment was, "You've got a major case of
population-wide metabolic syndrome here."
