hi all,
has anyone had much success with using a (nutritionally complete) liquid diet
for 6/52 whilst acute crohn's symptoms persist? several studies have shown this
to be equally effective as steroids, yet i haven't found a patient who is
willing to try this without being certain of the results.

Subject: Re: Ulcerative Colitis
Hi Nonie,
I would recommend two things: Have them contact the Crohn's and Colitis
Foundation of America (CCFA) which is to Inflammatory Bowel Disease
(Crohn's and ulcerative colitis) what the Am Heart Assoc is to heart
disease. CCFA can put them in touch with support groups in the Seattle
area and is also a good source of information about current research. The
national organization's web site is http://www.ccfa.org . The website for
the northwest chapter of ccfa is http://www.ccfa.org/chapters/northwest.
For an R.D., you may have already recommended this to them, but my
suggestion would be for them to contact the dietetics department of a
medical teaching hospital in Seattle and ask the R.D. who covers this
subspecialty for an appointment or to recommend someone.
Hope this helps,
