THE POSITION:  Develops and administers social marketing and health communication strategies for multiple programs within the Office of Nutrition, Chronic Disease Prevention Program; assists in developing health communication materials, public relations and event coordination activities, and keeps projects moving to meet tight deadlines; assists marketing manager in leading social marketing program development, evaluation and promotion including the development of campaigns aimed towards specific markets using health education, social marketing, and communication skills; acts as liaison between agency programs, contractors, public and private sector to ensure program outreach goals are communicated effectively; performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSAs):  Professional experience in mass media advertising; knowledge of social marketing, health communications strategies, health promotion practices, print production, graphics, and design; Skills in campaign coordination functions and projects, report preparation, organizing; Ability to apply marketing and advertising methods, assist in planning, conducting, and evaluating media campaigns, works with advertising/public relations contractors in conducting media campaign activities, and manage contracts, or experience that provides the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.   The preferred candidate will be bi-lingual (Spanish/English).
