*** The Center for Public Health Nutrition at the University of
Washington in Seattle is requesting applications for the position of
Program Manager. ***

CPHN Mission: To advance public health approaches to improve nutrition
and physical activity through environmental and policy change.  In doing
so, the Center works to build partnerships and collaborations with
practitioners, government agencies and communities; provides technical
assistance in the translation of research into policy and practice; and
works to shape obesity and chronic disease prevention and reduction
efforts.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Qualified candidates will exercise independent
judgment and decision-making authority in managing the day-to-day
operations of the Center for Public Health Nutrition and its staff. In
addition, he or she will provide technical support for research,
programming, and administration of policies and procedures to Center
faculty and Steering Committee members. The candidate will also be
responsible for managing Center operations and activities, controlling
the Center budget, facilitating achievement of Center goals and
objectives, and assuring program results.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in nutrition, public health,
public policy, and/or public affairs, and one year's work experience or
equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of current public health
trends and initiatives across the state, county, and worldwide.  Big
picture thinker with experience and competence communicating and working
with health professionals, faculty members and researchers, students,
and diverse groups within the general public. Ability to work
independently and as a member of a team, set priorities, organize
multiple, complex tasks simultaneously, and delegate tasks appropriately
and efficiently. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated
attention to detail. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
