Dear Colleagues,
         I would like to take this opportunity to give an unsolicited 
endorsement of Dr. Evelyn Crayton for the office of Professional Issues 
Delegate, Community Nutrition in the American Dietetic Association.  I have 
known Evelyn for a long time and consider her a personal friend as well as 
a very respected professional colleague.  Evelyn is the kind of person we 
need  in ADA leadership positions.   She is honest, straightforward, and 
fair.  She has years of experience working in the field of community 
nutrition and understands what the "real world" is like.    At the same 
time, she operates very effectively in an academic setting because of her 
ability to look at complex issues and understand that there are no simple 
solutions.  I have been on numerous committees with Evelyn and have always 
been impressed by her dedication to the task on hand as well as her 
openness to listening to various viewpoints.  At the same time, Evelyn is 
her "own person."  She abides by her value system and makes decision in 
accordance with it.  I am thrilled that Evelyn is willing to put time and 
energy into ADA, and I hope that you will support her in this election.
