DEPARTMENT OF FOOD SCIENCE, NUTRITION, AND HEALTH PROMOTION
Assistant Professor of Nutrition
The Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion,
Mississippi State University, is accepting applications for a full-time,
9-month, tenure-track faculty position specializing in Nutrition.
Responsibilities include developing a competitive externally funded
research program; teaching undergraduate/graduate level courses;
advising undergraduate students; directing M.S. and Ph.D. research; and
participating in departmental and professional activities. Earned
doctorate from an accredited institution in nutrition, public health or
related field; candidates who are ABD will be considered; evidence of
ability/potential to develop a nationally recognized competitive
research program; demonstrated ability to secure external funding and
teach and mentor graduate/undergraduate students; possess excellent
interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work
with others in a collegial team atmosphere are required. Post-doctoral
training in the nutrition area; history of refereed publications;
registered dietitian (R.D.) status; and clinical or community nutrition
practice experience preferred.
