Dear Colleagues,
The King County Board of Health in Seattle, Washington has recently
passed legislation that requires chain food establishments with 10 or
more national locations to provide specific nutrition information on
their menus/menu boards by Aug. 1, 2008. For menu boards only calories
are required to be posted on menu boards with the remaining nutrients
provided in another format such as a brochure.
The required nutrition information includes total amounts/menu item of:
calories, trans fat, saturated fat, carbohydrate and sodium. The final
legislation is available on-line:
http://www.metrokc.gov/health/boh/regulations.htm
Please send information to include on the lists we are compiling to
assist restaurants for:
1. Recommended professional nutritional analysis software for
restaurants
2. Companies providing professional nutritional analysis
3. Companies providing professional laboratory nutritional analysis

We appreciate your assistance.
