Position Title: IT Coordinator (IBIDS Team Leader)
Position Summary: The individual in this full-time (40 hours/week)
position will manage the IBIDS Project. This Team Leader will work with
a Team of diverse skill sets that develop and maintain the International
Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements (IBIDS) database. This
position involves a large relational database, team and project
management work. It includes report writing, research, and the creation
and improvement of work flows and database systems.
Major Responsibilities (in order of importance)
The primary duty is to work with the IBIDS team to ensure the continued
operation of the Congressionally-mandated IBIDS database and to develop
IBIDS and IBIDS products in conjunction with the vision provided by the
sponsoring Government Agencies. The Team Leader will coordinate the
enhancements to the database, facilitate new product development, and
work as a project manager. Deliverables for which the Team Leader is
responsible, in collaboration with the IBIDS team, include the annual
Inter-Agency Agreement and Budget, annual, semi-annual, monthly, and
special project reports, and the monthly submission of an "E-News"
bulletin to a listserv. The IBIDS Team Leader is also responsible for
preparing meeting agendas and minutes, generating work flows,
coordinating tasks of in-office and remote Team members, serving as a
Preceptor to Interns, demonstrating the database to potential users at
conferences, assisting with questions from end users, and other duties
as required. Strong organizational and project management skills are
required as are excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Serve as main contact point for UMD, FNIC and NAL-related activities,
and required to process time sheets and UMD contracts for appropriate
staff.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Project Management experience is required. A Masters Degree in Library
Science is desirable or commensurate library experience with a science,
health or nutrition-related degree. Supervisory experience is
necessary. Good technical writing and public speaking skills essential.
Applicants must have experience using Microsoft Office software
applications, have worked with a Microsoft Access or MySQL database, and
have website development and HTML code experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Professional writing experience a plus. Coursework in php/MySQL
beneficial.
Terms of Employment:
The position is full time, contractual, and funded on a year to year
basis. Health benefits stipend, holiday, sick and annual leave
provided.
Salary:
$69,440 to $86,800
