  Friends:

This free HIPAA training in Tacoma on June 5 might be of interest to
some of you.

Some of you may remember Vicki Hohner from her many years at the
Washington State Department of Health and her work helping to organize
the Washington State Data Users Conference, currently the Washington
State Joint Conference on Health.

CMS Offers Free HIPAA Workshops for Small Providers & More Roundtables
HHS' Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services will be offering
workshops focusing on implementing the critical electronic transactions
and code set (TCS) requirements. Checklists, how to’s, and a special
segment on security are included as well, and the Office for Civil
Rights (OCR) has been invited to speak on privacy issues. Reservations
are on a first-come, first-served basis, however, they are required as
space is limited. Preference will be given to those providers located in
the geographic area of a workshop. For more information email
mjohnson3 at cms.hhs.gov and put “WORKSHOP” in the subject heading.
