Friends:

I was asked by Margo Harris from the PNWHEALTH list to write up some
information for you on how to prepare for and enjoy Webcasts. I agreed
that it was important since travel money has evaporated and many of us
can no longer afford to travel to conferences and workshops - and
because an increasing number of conference organizers are making
presentations, grand rounds, and other content accessible as Webcasts.

So, for those of you who are interested, I have written up a document
that you can use the next time you want to watch a Webcast. It's
available at: http://depts.washington.edu/hswork/articles/Webcasts.html
. Be sure to capitalize the W in Webcasts.html .

I'm open to suggestions for creating other learning nuggets. Just send
them to me at larsson at u.washington.edu .

"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." Alvin Toffler
"There's no reason to burn books if you don't read them." Ray Bradbury
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." T. S. Eliot
"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both." James Michener
